Meet Wednesday, she is a sweet old lady that is looking for a great forever home.

Wednesday

Wednesday here is  our super duper wonderful senior purebred Standard Pug “Wednesday”.  She is 10 years old, affectionate and gentle, very low energy and relaxes but still gets her playful spurts.  She is animal friendly with every animal on the planet (has been living with dogs, cats, horses, cows, chickens, goats, squirrels, and birds!)  She is non reactive to other animals and loves to follow her human around from room to room.  Being a Pug she is comical and loves to cock her head and make endearing faces that will make you smile.  She brings joy to everyone who meets her.  Only health issue is glacoma in one eye in which she has no sight (common issue for breeds with buldging eyes like Pugs, Bostons, Bulldogs), otherwise she is in perfect health! She loves to go for leisurely walks and loves to ride in the car with her head out the window.  She needs a loving, stable forever home where she can shine like the superstar she is!  She is located in Fresno, CA but can be transported within California.

Elder Paws Senior Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to reducing the euthanasia rate of senior dogs age 7 and older in overcrowded kills shelters based on age and age related medical conditions. Homeless senior dogs are seen as less adoptable and are often first to be “red listed” (put on euthanasia list) to make room for younger, more adoptable dogs.

Meet Boomer a very sweet Old Man needing his forever home.

Sweet Boy needs his own forever home.
Boomer 11yo Cocker Shih Tsu mix , male

Boomer is an 11 year old Cocker Shih Tzu mix, male, neutered, who lost his family in a divorce (there were three dogs total, two younger dogs, the wife took one younger dog, the husband took the other younger dog, and guess which dog had to go?  The old one of course!)  Boomer finally settled in to foster care after a month, he was quite despondent for a while.  Three months ago a 79 year old lady’s granddaughter contacted us and stated her grandmother had just lost her husband and needed a companion.  She felt Boomer would fit the bill.  Granddaughter stated she lived next door so could support her grandmother with any needs in caring for Boomer.  Seemed like an ideal situation as the woman was home all day and could spend lots of time with Boomer, which he really needed.  However, the granddaugther moved away unexpectantly a month ago leaving Boomer alone with the grandmother, who was unable to properly care for Boomer.  He was returned to us with a fractured tooth, skin issues, 8 lbs overweight and an injured foot from having been stepped on.  Boomer was placed in one of our best foster homes but still has had trouble getting over yet another loss.  He is getting lots and lots of love and attention from both foster mom and his foster brother dog.  Boomer really needs a home of his own, one where he will never have to worry about being shipped off to the shelter again, one where he will be valued for the special little man that he is, a real survivor who has overcome a lot of loss in the past 12 months.
